Courtyard Residence is a contemporary residential concept designed around the idea of bringing nature into everyday living. The design combines clean architectural forms, warm natural materials and carefully framed views of the surrounding landscape.
An Architectural Response to Urban Colombo
At the heart of the home is a private courtyard that creates a quiet connection between the interior and exterior spaces. Large glazed openings allow natural light to move deep into the living areas while maintaining privacy from the surrounding neighbourhood.
The material palette combines concrete, timber, glass and soft landscaping to create a modern yet welcoming character. Deep roof overhangs and shaded outdoor areas also respond to Sri Lanka’s tropical climate.
Designed for Everyday Living
The layout focuses on simple, comfortable spaces that flow naturally from one room to another. The living and dining areas open towards the courtyard, creating a sense of continuity between the house and garden.
Bedrooms are positioned to provide privacy, while carefully placed windows bring in daylight and views without compromising comfort.
The result is a home that balances contemporary architecture with the warmth and openness of tropical living.
